Ellen L. Shepard (Shep) 

is a published and award winning artist; her published works include illustrations in New York's Traffic East and North Carolina's The Rambler magazines.   Her paintings have had exhibits in Raleigh's downtown Library and Flanders Art Gallery, to name a few.  Her awards include First Place in the 'Picture This' competition.  Her paintings and commissions can be found in numerous private collections.

   Her paintings are bold and vibrant, telling stories of an experience, often gone untold.  She calls her portraits VOPS (Very Odd Portraits).  She is most influenced by contemporary and post-impressionist artists. "David Hockney blows my mind." She works in acrylic, watercolor, and pastel.
